Dear Colleagues and Friends,
From July 21-23, 2010, the Central Asian city of Bishkek – capital of the Kyrgyz Republic – will host the annual Bishkek International Banking Conference (BIBC VII). Now in its seventh year, the conference is one of the most significant and internationally acclaimed financial events to take place in the CIS, covering the most topical issues of banking and investment. The focus of BIBC VII is on the Central Asia region – a dynamic and growing emerging market of over 30 million people – from both a global economic and an operational perspective.
With over 50 expert speakers from Central Asia, Europe, Asia and the US, creating an open discussion platform for more than 200 senior executives of financial institutions from all over the world, BIBC VII will feature over 20 discussion panels providing profound insights about five Central Asian countries – Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan – in one highly engaging, informative and entertaining three-day event.
Who should attend:
- Chairmen and vice-chairmen of businesses with an interest in the Central Asian region
- Financial institution executives
- Heads of international departments in financial organizations
- Senior managers
- Financial consultants and investment specialists
Why attend?
Entitled “Central Asian Dialogue III”, the upcoming 7th Bishkek International Banking Conference is of vital importance to those already operating in the region, as well as those considering entering its markets. After the economic downturn that began in late 2008, the Central Asian economies are returning to growth, making it important for business leaders to reevaluate and recalibrate their business and investment strategies in light of the changing circumstances. As they consider how to benefit maximally from an increasingly favorable economic environment, BIBC VII will help them to accurately assess the economic conditions of the Central Asian markets and provide an opportunity for open dialogue with industry experts on important topics such as best risk management practices, operational efficiency and sound product management policies.
Since its inception in 2004, the BIBC has focused on some of the most complex and controversial business and economic issues related to the Central Asian region, such as:
- estimating regional growth and investment potential;
- cooperation with multilateral financial organizations; risk management objectives and practices;
- approaches to compliance in largely cash-driven markets; the evolution of product management and many others.
After six years of successful development, the conference has evolved into a tight-knit community providing participants with access to:
- Influential politicians from all over the Central Asian region;
- High-ranking decision makers from international financial organizations;
- Heads of local and regional public financial organizations, such as banking associations and financial communities;
- Decision-makers from the most internationally integrated and financially stable banks in the region;
- Executives of the largest businesses across the region;
- Leading research and consulting companies providing the most up-to-date and reliable information on the Central Asian markets;
- Representatives of well-respected international financial and economic think-tanks;
- Senior reporters and editors from the most high-profile international financial publications.
